HEIC2013

Higher Education Institutions Conference is a conference that gathered rectors, deans, associate deans, directors, key players and decision-makers in the field of higher education, professors, international offices, etc. HEIC was of interest to academics from all disciplines as well as corporate representatives from the labour market with the responsibilities in recruitment and development of young talents with the support of AACSB International and the Agency for Science and Higher Education (ASHE).

It was held from June 6 – 7 in Dubrovnik, The Pearl of Adriatic and participants could listen to the AACSB Workshop held by Lucienne Mochel, MA, Vice president, accreditation and member services AACSB International and Kjell R. Knudsen, PhD, Dean, Labovitz School of Business and Economics University of Minnesota Duluth, USA.

PLENARY I: “International Standardization & Global Challenges” was discussed by Robert D. Reid, PhD, Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer, AACSB International and Jasmina Havranek, PhD, Director, The Agency for Science and Higher Education, Croatia.

PLENARY II: “Achieving Competitiveness – Focus on Quality and Higher Academic Standards” was discussed by Thierry Grange, PhD, President of the Strategic Board, Grenoble Ecole de Management, France, Kjell R. Knudsen, PhD, Dean, Labovitz School of Business and Economics University of Minnesota Duluth, USA, Witold T. Bielecki, PhD, Rector and Professor of Management, Kozminski University, Poland, Dr Đuro Njavro, Dean, Zagreb School of Economics and Management, Croatia and Simon Parker, PhD, Associate Dean for Academic Quality & Standards, Cass Business School, UK.

PLENARY III: “Effective Governance of Higher Education Institutions” was presented by Dr Dušan Mramor, Dean and Finance Professor, Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia and Zoran Barac, PhD, Managing Director, ZSEM, Croatia.

PLENARY IV: “Elements of Competitive Advantage” was presented by John A. Helmuth, PhD, Professor of Finance, School of Management, University of Michigan – Flint, USA and Maja Martinović, PhD, Associate Dean and Professor of Marketing, Zagreb School of Economics and Management, Croatia.

PLENARY V: “Higher Education and World of Business” was discussed by Vera Čubranić, MA, Human Resources Director, Nova TV Inc., Croatia and Mirna Koričan, PhD, Human Resource Management Lecturer, ZSEM, Croatia.
