HEIC 2024_EUonAIR

Welcome to the 2024 Higher Education Institutions Conference (HEIC)! This year’s
conference continues its mission to advance education in Higher Education
Institutions (HEIs) with a heightened focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI). We are
excited to announce the establishment of the EUonAIr European University alliance,
with ZSEM proudly serving as a co-lead institution.

What are European University Alliances? European University Alliances aim to
enhance the global competitiveness of European higher education institutions while
promoting European values and identity. These alliances foster long-term, strategic,
and sustainable cooperation among HEIs.

Why Focus on EUonAIr? EUonAIr represents a pivotal initiative in this landscape.
Comprising ten leading universities specializing in economics, business,
management, and technology, EUonAIr is dedicated to pioneering responsible AI
integration in curricula, developing Smart University concepts, and enhancing AI-
assisted mobility experiences. This alliance is part of the European Commission’s
broader effort, particularly through the Erasmus+ European Universities initiative,
which aims to consolidate Europe’s position as a leader in higher education.

The Impact and Reach of EUonAIr. With its inclusion among the 14 alliances
selected in the 2024 Erasmus+ European Universities call, EUonAIr strengthens the
network of 64 alliances comprising over 560 HEIs from 35 countries. This
collaborative effort transcends borders, uniting diverse stakeholders including NGOs,
enterprises, and local authorities to promote a shared vision of accessible and
innovative education.

Transforming Education with AI. EUonAIr’s holistic approach leverages AI to redefine
learning, research, and professional practices. By emphasizing responsible AI
integration and supporting comprehensive mobility cycles, EUonAIr equips students
and educators with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s dynamic
educational landscape.
